petits riens
my recent accomplice + a sweet-smelling salve, two items that are always in my possession.
I don't speak french, but I read the phrase les petits riens de la vie in a book once, and it stuck with me. It means, the little nothings of life.
It's like jewelry, only for your life: not entirely necessary, but it brings the sparkle, the shine - that little something extra.
What is your favorite nothing?

ReplyDeletei've loved rosebud for year's - since my days working at anthropologie. my most recent little nothing is burt's bees super shiny lip gloss. i think i have at least three in my purse right now...that and lots of pens!
ReplyDeleteCarly - I can't wait to get a house with a backyard so that I can smell the fresh-cut grass again!
ReplyDeleteKelli - I could live on my son's laughter. It's so addicting!
Jess - I've been wanting to try BB's super shiny lip gloss. (Trying to get away from petroleum products.) Do they work well?
Hm...that's a hard questions. Right at this moment my favorite nothings are the spot of sunshine that I'm sitting in as I read blogs and the pile of soft gingersnaps my son and I made this morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment. My favorite sweet nothing is hearing my neices and nephews chattering softly in the next room.
