I've always been a little sentimental, squirreling away bits of my past in cardboard boxes marked with descriptions like "Marisa's Collection of Nostalgia & Memories," or recently, and perhaps more appropriately, "Do Not Throw This Box Away, Husband." (Six years of marriage and I think I've finally figured a few things out.)
Which is why I guess it's no surprise that I enjoy blogging. It's a less space-consuming way to store the things that I never want to forget. Plus, I love to write. It revives me. It helps me to unfold and savor all the unique textures and charming details that I often miss.
Writing makes me aware that my life is brimming with rich treasure, even when the most exciting thing I've done all day is scrub food out of the carpet.
I have a handsome husband and a high-spirited toddler. I'm a stay-at-home mom, learning as I go. I value simplicity and authenticity. I like to take pictures. I'm inspired by sun-filled rooms and dark cozy spaces, plain white bed linens and colorful vintage fabrics. My hair is usually undone, and I like it that way.
