Last week I called my mom at 7 o'clock in the morning and mumbled desperately into the phone that I was sick and the baby was sick and if it wasn't too much trouble couldn't she please come over and help?
And she did - of course she did. She soothed us with kind words and vegetable soup, and the calming force of her presence made me believe that mothers actually DO have supernatural powers. I don't know if she had plans for that day, but if she did, she never let on that I had disrupted them.
Sacrifice is beautiful because it is rare in this world; we are drawn to the souls who bring light in the form of unconditional service and love.
My mother shines.

I have a mom just like that! I want to be a mom that have supernatural giving powers too.

Aren't moms just the best? I love it when my mom takes care of me when I'm sick...I don't think that will ever change. I don't know what I would do without her!

Such an incredibly sweet post. I am not close to my mom so I am hoping...that someday....my boys will be able to write a post like this about me. Someday I will be there with the soup & all the love in the world to share with their families. It's a life goal for me. I will be the mom that shines too.

isn't that wonderful. makes me want to move home and live across the street so my mom can take care of me whenever I need her.
