brown paper packages tied up with string...
A couple years ago I used brown grocery bags and leftover bits of yarn for my Christmas gift wrap. I thought I'd post the picture in case anyone is looking for a cute, quick and ridiculously inexpensive way to wrap Christmas presents. [I used this yarn pom tutorial].
Every time I see that photo, it reminds me of the song and I start to hear Julie Andrews in my head. I hope you have a magical Christmas filled with your favorite things, and more importantly, your favorite people!

ReplyDeleteI have been singing that song all week - I happen to have a roll of craft paper and twine that I've been using to wrap all of my gifts. I might have to try some pompoms, though - they look divine! Have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThese are a few of my favorite things... I love it!!
ReplyDeleteJust read your essay on delightful. Beautifully written. I felt like I was there.
I've been wrapping this year in left-over butcher paper from a photo shoot I did earlier this year, and a skien of that funky ribbony yarn. It's such a great look- LOVE IT! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou aren't the first bloggy friend who has mentioned "brown paper packages, tied up with string" in the last week. : ) I would love to jump on the band-wagon, but my presents for this are all wrapped up, and I'm not about to re-wrap them. Maybe next year...
ReplyDelete(p.s. LOVE the pom-poms.)

ReplyDeletemerry (late) christmas.
This is great. I wrapped all my gifts with recycled items last year and plan to do it again this year. Thanks for the pom pom idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of packages wrapped in something simple. I started making the yarn poms last year and used them on the packages I mailed to family... so much cheaper than a bunch of ribbon and prettier!
